Good skin care and a healthy lifestyle can help delay natural aging and prevent skin problems. Foods for Healthy Skin

Eating a balanced diet filled with power foods – like dark leafy greens and berries – can help not only our skin but also chronic conditions like heart disease. Berries – Blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries are an excellent, concentrated source of antioxidants. The powerful components help the body fight free radicals (unstable molecules that damage cells in our bodies) and aging. All the more reason to enjoy a berry smoothie!

Dark Chocolate – Most people love chocolate and though most will go straight for the milk chocolate, dark chocolate is packed with antioxidants. Like with berries, the antioxidants in dark chocolate will help fight free radicals in your body which in turn will benefit the health of your skin.

Avocados – There’s a reason why avocados are a popular ingredient for face masks. Avocados penetrate cells at the deepest levels, pumping skin full of phytonutrients and vitamin A, D and E.

Green Tea – Green Tea may be the secret weapon you’ve been searching for as it is high in polyphenols. It’s inflammatory properties protect skin and reduce the damage from UV light. It can be used as a toner to treat acne, healing blemishes and reducing scars.

Water – One of the best things you can do for your skin is to drink plenty of water. Clean, pure water is the best choice not only for healthy skin but for overall health. Water helps to keep skin hydrated and gives your body the ability to flush out toxins.

Good nutrition is essential for healthy skin. The focus should be to eat more healthy foods and less of the unhealthy ones.
